Amber Wolak

Amber Wolak developed a love of teaching English while serving in the Peace Corps in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, West Africa. In those early days of teaching, where she worked to inspire classrooms of 80+ students, she realized that teaching was a calling she simply had to pursue. She taught at a middle school in Mauritania for two years, before spending a year teaching English at a university in the Sichuan Province of China. Upon returning to the United States, Amber worked for three years as the Program Services Coordinator for the English Language Institute and SparkPoint Center of Skyline College in San Bruno. She was an adjunct professor for the English and ESL departments at Contra Costa College, and has been teaching English and ESL at San Joaquin Delta College since 2013. Amber completed her general education classes at San Joaquin Delta College before transferring to complete her B.A. at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). Amber's M.A. is in English, with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), from San Francisco State.
