Grant Development Opportunities

There are a variety of online resources available to grantseekers. This page outlines two major sources of funding and provides links to specific funding agencies and foundations.

This page contains links to data resources that may be helpful for your grant application. However, if you need specific Delta College data for your grant application, please submit a data request form to the College’s Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.

 

Federal Grant Resources

Grants.gov includes grant announcements from the following federal agencies (among others):

Visit grants.gov to begin your grant search. You can also access information about federal grant programs by visiting the Online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance.

For detailed information about specific grant programs, visit one of the above websites for the appropriate federal agency.  Sign up for email updates at the Federal Register website.

 

Private Foundation Resources

There are numerous private foundations that offer funding to non-profit organizations (including institutions of higher education) for projects targeting specific interest areas. Below are two major search engines that allow you to look for foundations by location, type, and name. Note: Each search engine offers a paid membership, but basic information about each foundation and limited grantseeker resources are available for free.

The Sacramento Non-Profit Resource Center provides access to grant databases and foundation directories, a full library, grant-writing workshops, and other support serves to non-profit organizations and their employees. Although a paid membership is required to check out library materials, the Center’s library is open to the public during regular business hours.
