Bio:

Macaria Meza is one of the Resource Specialists for the Health and Fitness TrAC.  She is a proud first-generation Delta College graduate with is AA in Business. Macaria was born and raised here by her hard-working Mexican parents. Both of her grandfathers came to this country with the Bracero program in the early 1950s.  Macaria’s life experiences and family have instilled in her an inner desire to help others and make a positive impact in others’ lives.  Macaria has a Bachelor's in Organizational Behavior from the University of the Pacific and has a Neuro-Linguistics Programming (NLP) certification from the Tad James Co.  Before working at Delta College, she worked in the private sector for a Fortune 500 company for over 10 years working in different capacities such as administration, procurement, marketing, and process improvement.

Macaria knows our Delta students possess the drive and motivation to be successful, however many are the first in their families to attend college and do not know how to navigate the process.  Macaria wants to be that person who helps students navigate a complex system knowing we offer everything a student could possibly need to be successful.  She is proud to be a part of the Delta College family because it allows her to give back to her community and prepare our next generation of leaders.

Outside of work, Macaria enjoys several outdoor activities including hiking, road biking, and camping.  She also serves as a bi-lingual (English and Spanish) listening line volunteer for a pregnancy and infant loss support group serving the greater Sacramento area.
