Surplus
Approved Methods
In accordance with Ed Code Section 81450-81460 and per Resolution #00-11 the Vice President of Administrative Services or delegated individual is authorized to dispose of obsolete property, via an approved disposal method.
The approved disposal methods include:
- online public surplus auction
- donation to other public agencies or non-profit charitable organizations
- recycle
- scrap or campus wide landfill diversion
All of the above will be utilized by San Joaquin Delta College to properly dispose of obsolete property to avoid trashing in the landfill.
How to Surplus Items
- In order to surplus items no longer needed or obsolete, departments must fill out a Work Order and send the signed surplus form to the Maintenance office.
- Computer or A/V related item(s) must be surplus by Information Services.
**Items such as: printers, fax and copy machines, must be surplus by Publication Center.**
- Computer or A/V related item(s) must be surplus by Information Services.
- A copy of signed Surplus Equipment Form must be attached to the item(s). The original signed form must be sent to the Maintenance office, as well as a copy to the Purchasing Department for coordination of proper disposal method. Signed forms must be turned into the Maintenance office. Surplus items will not be removed until all proper documentation has been received.
