Tiffany Pech is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Stockton, California. She primarily works in sculpture, printmaking and book arts. She studied studio art at Delta College and earned a mixed emphasis BFA at CSU Stanislaus. She has exhibited work in Stockton, Sacramento, Turlock, Oakland and Nevada.
I initially discovered the flower fold book while I was teaching book arts and printmaking to after school program students. I quickly found myself fascinated by the book’s unassuming yet expansive qualities. When closed, the book appears to be simply square. By alternating the direction that each page opens, the flower fold book adopts sculptural qualities. The book is composed of monoprints, Suminagashi marbling and collage.

It is easy to be tiresome, boring, joyless
Just shout
Fun…whimsy…and risk. 100% assurance
You’ll hear complaints
Nobody ever called it a pleasure
They’d rather be
Whatever you do, do with all your might
Don’t forget why
Go the distance for you.
