Katie Graham is a local amateur artist from Lodi, California, and current interdisciplinary Arts student here at Delta college. She works with all sorts of mediums but has a focus on traditional mediums such as alcohol markers and printmaking to create artworks that connect emotionally with her audience.
With this exhibit being the first art exhibit I have ever been a part of, I wanted to make something truly special and meaningful. I saw this as an opportunity to make a memorial tribute in both physical medium and in poetry to my beloved childhood pet Princess. My booklet holds photographs of Princess from everyday life and displays what she was once like before she passed.
The imagery in this art piece is based on the artist’s own writing based on her grief from the loss of her cat.

Goodbye my Princess — by Katie Graham
It feels like it's been forever since
the day you left us, but you have been
gone for a couple of months now.
Days have turned into months and
time has passed so fast without you
here. But I will never forget the sound
of your purring, the feeling of your
soft fur against my hands and the
sound of you meowing like you have
never been fed in your whole feline
life for food in the morning. Hearing
you running down the halls or
surprising me with a new nap spot
