Abigail Glass
Abigail Glass graduated from San Joaquin Delta College with an Associates in Art. She is first and foremost, a Christian. After getting her degree in art she spent 2 semesters abroad at Bible college: one in Israel, and one in Japan. When Abigail was 12 years old she found the motivation to learn to draw realistically. It took several years, however, for her to consider herself an artist. Abigail paints, draws, sculpts, and creates with whatever medium interests her. She mostly focuses on a realistic style but often experiments with others styles and ideas. Abigail still plans on pursuing a career in art. However, there has been some obstacles along the road, including struggles with health.
As an artist I’d say I have a mindset of problem solving, in that its often like figuring out a puzzle. People would say I’m detail oriented, which may be true, but I consider myself to have an appreciation of the little things. I am an observer above all else. I consider the way the artist views the world to be one of the most important aspects of art. Nature is my main primary inspiration, as God is the greatest creator and artist. My relationship with Jesus will always affect every aspect of my life. I think the transformative process of creating art is a beautiful picture of the way God works. My artwork “rat mischief” started with an accident when one of my brand new canvases was damaged. I didn’t want to simply throw it away, so I made something unique with it. Over the years I found there is a special beauty in the brokenness.
