Jayme Jones

Hello, my name is Jayme Jones and I am currently an adjunct counselor at San Joaquin Delta College. I also serve as an adjunct counselor for American River College in Sacramento. I am originally from Oakland California and I am a proud first-generation college student. I graduated from Chico State in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. After receiving my bachelor’s degree I went to graduate school in Ohio and earned a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel. After working with students in the Educational Opportunity program during my junior year of college I decided against going into law enforcement and decided I wanted to work with college students and decided to enter the profession of student affairs. I fell in love with working with students and knew I wanted to do something that did not feel like I was working. I started working at Delta College full-time in fall of 2015 as an academic advisor for the CalWORKs program. In my new role as a counselor I find it rewarding to work with students as they navigate the college environment and plan out their academic, career and personal goals.
