Harry J. Mersmann, Ph.D is a professor of Sociology and has been at Delta College since 1999.  He regularly teaches courses such as Intro Sociology, Social Problems, Sociology of Family and Sociology of Gender.  Dr. Mersmann is a dedicated union advocate who currently serves as the 2nd Vice President for the SJDCTA and as Parliamentarian for the Academic Senate.

Dr. Mersmann has strong interests in the topics of gender, race, sexual assault and popular culture (e. g. Disney, pro-wrestling, theme parks, conspiracy theory, and The Jejune Institute).  When off campus, he is a noted cocktalian, chef, songwriter and musician who adores live theater and good beer.
