Bio: 

Dr. Chad Somers holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Literature and Vocal Pedagogy from the Eastman School of Music. He is a full member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), has sat on the board for the NATS—San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, and has a bustling studio in Lafayette, CA. Dr. Somers’ students are known for their technical abilities and artistic expression. They have regularly placed first in competitions (SFBAC-NATS, Lamorinda Idol) and have received contracts for union performances. His students have been admitted for classical voice and received substantial scholarships at top tier schools such as the Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, New England School of Music, Oberlin, Michigan, Cincinnati Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, San Fransisco Conservatory, and have received full tuition scholarships from Boston Conservatory and UC Fullerton for musical theater. Dr. Somers seeks to inspire genuine artistry and to uncover students' authentic voices to produce to one-of-a-kind performances. His studio is marked by its love of music, the joy of performing, and warmth as a community of learners.

Dr. Somers continues to receive praise for his performances on the opera, concert, and recital stages across America. He has premiered award-winning operas, collaborated with major composers, won competitions, appeared in recital, and sang as a soloist with orchestras and chamber ensembles.
