Dates below are for the 2024 General election on November 5, 2024.  Use this short checklist to plan ahead.

  • The last day to register to vote for the general Election is October 21, 2024.
    Register to Vote Here!
  • All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 5, 2024, General Election.
  • Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by October 7, 2024.
  • Ballot drop-off locations open on October 8, 2024.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office. You can track it here: california.ballottrax.net/voter/.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12, 2024.
  • LOCAL ELECTIONS: Check San Joaquin County voting information here. For other counties you can search at the CA Secretary of State page. You can view information on current elections such as candidates. Election information specific to Stockton can be found here.

Presidential Debate – Watch & Discuss Party  
Description: Join the Speech and Debate and Law club at a watch and discuss party. Following the debate, we will have an open discussion. Discussion will be moderated by Speech and Debate Club and Politics and Law Club.

National Voter Registration Day/Constitution Day  
Description: Join us in the Quad for information about registering to vote. There will be music and popcorn!

Burritos and Ballots  
Description: Cal Matters will highlight local and state elections, and ballot propositions and measures impacting our local communities. Lunch will be provided to students who attend.

Candidate Forums for Local Elections 
Description: The Politics and Law Club and Political Science Department will be hosting candidate forums for local elections. ASDC and Office of Student Life will also have tables for information about voter registration and engagement. Refreshments provided by Office of Student Life.
