I work with photography. I completed all the necessary courses and units for the Associate of Art in Photography, Humanities and Spanish. I intend on achieving the Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Design, but photography will always be something I continually practice. I was always fascinated with drawings and paintings but I didn’t have a steady enough hand to create artwork like that. When I started taking pictures off my mom’s phone I found myself taking pictures everyday. I experiment with different photographic methods and digital imaging, but I would consider my photography to pertain to natural surrealism. Normally, I am usually inspired by a dream I had and would try to revisit that hrough a photograph. I didn’t realize I had worked with a surrealist mindset but my process is one that is closely associated with it- psychic automatism. I like to work with influences from the subconscious and the steps aren't always clear but they reveal what I couldn't see. I titled these photographs based on their chronological order. A total of six mirrors in which you can consider the two as part of a six I call “Displaced Mirrors.” I wanted to convey a photo-displacement of light- using the mirror to fill light from one direction and capturing it from another angle.
