STOCKTON — Delta College Trustee Janet Rivera will serve as president of the Board of Trustees for the coming year after the Board’s annual reorganization meeting earlier this week.
Other newly named Board officers include Trustee Carlos Huerta (vice president) and Trustee Jennet Stebbins (clerk).
“I am honored to serve as Board president in 2020 as we work toward our goals, including increasing student success and ensuring a bright future for Delta College,” said Trustee Rivera, who was first elected to the Board in 1994 and is serving her seventh term.
“I congratulate our new Board officers and look forward to working with them closely as we serve students across the region,” said Delta College Superintendent/President Dr. Omid Pourzanjani.
Delta’s seven-member Board of Trustees, which meets twice a month, provides elected representation for residents throughout Delta’s district, which includes most of San Joaquin County and portions of five other counties. The Board is tasked with approving the College budget and providing policy oversight, among other responsibilities.
