STOCKTON — San Joaquin Delta College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is seeking reaffirmation of its accredited status through an external evaluation peer-review.
An evaluation team will visit the College in March, and the public is invited to provide third-party comments to the Commission in advance of the team's visit. These comments will help the Commission as it considers Delta's application.
The upcoming visit is part of an accreditation process that the College undertakes every six years. Accreditation is a way for peers from other colleges to evaluate Delta’s work and to assure the quality of its educational programs.
The accreditation team’s visit is scheduled for March 2-5, 2020. Public third-party comments should be submitted by Jan. 27.
Comments can be submitted at the ACCJC website.
“Accreditation is a critical process that helps us understand what we are doing well and what we could be doing better,” said Delta College Superintendent/President Omid Pourzanjani. “We encourage the public to participate by submitting comments prior to the accreditation team’s visit in March.”
