Visions In Clay 2019
Greg Stahly
The natural landscape is being mechanized in order to provide electricity, water,
and food to an ever more demanding human race. Scientific and technological
systems are at the core of this perpetual state of evolution, providing us with the
structural basis of transport, storage, and interface that are the foundations of
these developed systems. My current work is based on this mechanization of the
landscape and the variety of systems and structures that are designed and
implemented to transfer resources from one location to another. I believe these
systems have an implicit and dichotomous impact on society and the
environment—simultaneously supporting and destroying.
