Internship Program Overview

The Delta College Faculty Diversity Internship Program (FDIP) is committed to providing opportunities for faculty interns to learn and practice inclusive teaching strategies appropriate for diverse community college students as a means of recruiting qualified faculty who mirror our student population and are committed to a diversity of perspectives.

Launched in Fall 2023, the program is designed to provide teaching and learning experience to graduate students interested in becoming a professor. The primary objectives are twofold: 1) create strong pathways for graduate students to transition from student to instructor with a strong pedagogical foundation rooted in diversity and equity, and 2) develop a talented and dynamic pool of faculty who mirror the diversity of our student population. Our student population encompasses people with different cultural, ethnic, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, academic preparation, learning style, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
