CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a state-funded Welfare-to-Work program designed to help individuals become self-sufficient.

What is San Joaquin Delta College CalWORKs?

The SJDC CalWORKs program provides services to students who are receiving cash assistance from Human Services Agency.  Our purpose is to support students in their progress toward their county-approved plan, and to ensure their success in achieving their educational goals.  Assistance to county Case Managers is also provided, to ensure compliance. The SJDC CalWORKs Program is run entirely by employees of the College. While we work closely with our partners at HSA, we are funded by the Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.

Our Mission

We are committed to providing CalWORKs students with quality service by assisting them in achieving their educational and life goals. We accomplish this with dedication, compassion, and understanding.

Who is Eligible?

An eligible CalWORKs student must be a TANF recipient who is receiving cash aid for themselves and any dependent children. Participants in the SJDC CalWORKs Program must be enrolled or be enrolling at the college. If you meet these requirements, review our Intake process to start receiving CalWORKs services.
