The San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) Digital Media Film Festival, presented by Fierce Mustang Media Group, is thrilled to invite students to participate in this year's event. Scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Tillie Lewis Theater in the Locke Building, this festival offers a unique platform for students to showcase their filmmaking and storytelling skills.
This year, the film festival is honored to welcome Marsha Posner Williams, a two-time Emmy winner and co-producer of the iconic sitcom The Golden Girls, as the special guest speaker.
Event Highlights:
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Opening Reception/Red Carpet Photos (Danner Hall)
- 6:00 PM - 6:10 PM: Transition to Tillie Lewis Theater
- 6:10 PM - 7:45 PM: Screenings of student films
- 7:45 PM - 8:15 PM: Panel Q&A moderated by Marsha Posner Williams
- 8:15 PM - 9:00 PM: Awards and Closing Reception
The festival aims to celebrate and promote the art of filmmaking and storytelling in San Joaquin County and features dedicated categories for high school entries and community filmmakers. People interested in submitting can find more information and submission guidelines on our festival website hosted by Film Freeway. There is no entry fee for submissions. Trophies will be handed out to first, second, and third-place winners.
About Fierce Mustang Media: Fierce Mustang Media is a student-run media group. Our experiential learning lab provides students enrolled in media-related courses at San Joaquin Delta College with an opportunity to do real-world work while completing their degree or certificate paths. One of the outcomes of our work is to spread digital media literacy throughout San Joaquin County.
