Benjamin Meeks is a local artist and designer who has worked on various types of projects from product and 3D drawn renderings for a nationally known automotive company, Wild Horses 4x4, to advertising material and label design for several local wine labels, including Oakridge’s Old Soul. His current exploration of art is in the realm of nature and landscape photography, where his work captures the quiet, sometimes missed, moments in nature. He is a proud local Stocktonian who was born and raised in Stockton where he continues to live and work.
My work in photography is an attempt to capture the natural beauty that is all around us but is often overlooked. The quiet, still moments and subtle glimpses that are missed in our busy lives. I enjoy focusing on the points of view that are passed over and perspectives of nature normally not taken. To show there is beauty everywhere, sometimes, you need to change your perspective.

Forest Song
by William Henry Venable (Excerpt)
A song for the forest, aisled,
With its Gothic roof sublime,
The solemn temple of Time,
Where man becometh a child,
As he listens the anthem-roll
Of the voiceful winds that call,
In the solitude of his soul,
On the name of the All-in-All.

When Great Trees Fall

Aquí confluimos hacia la única estrella. Volquémonos amado mío,
dejemos caer los remos
hasta donde la noche no existe.
Here we converge toward the only star. Let's fall in, love of mine,
let's drop our oars
down to where night doesn't exist.
