STOCKTON – San Joaquin Delta College trustees will interview four community members to determine who will temporarily fill a vacant seat on the College’s governing board.
The interviews will take place at the regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting on March 10. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building at Delta’s Stockton campus, 5151 Pacific Avenue. The public is invited.
The candidates are:
• Dr. Laurie Crawford, education specialist/teacher;
• Rafael Medina, recreation specialist;
• Van Ha To-Cowell, school administrator; and
• Matthew Toth, graphic design manager.
The vacancy in question is in Area 2, which encompasses much of central Stockton. Former Area 2 Trustee Carlos Huerta stepped down recently due to his moving out of that area. The appointment of a new trustee to fill Huerta's seat will last only until the November election, when his term was set to expire. The temporary vacancy was advertised throughout the community, with four residents ultimately applying. Trustees will interview all four candidates at the March 10 meeting and then make a selection.
