The results of the last presidential election left me desperately seeking ways to get the sexism, racism, and nonstop drama out of my mind.  The process of making these porcelain islands was calming and helped me to escape reality for a while.  The first series Escape Islands evolved into the proactive Islands of Resistance, and have now become Islands of Resilience. These new works are intended to inspire and support a long-term sustained resilience. The pieces in this series are charged with the power of inner strength, community connection, and self-compassion.
