Visions In Clay 2024
Chidi Ukwuoma (He/Him)
Chidi Ukwuoma, born and raised in Los Angeles, California, is an interdisciplinary artist whose work celebrates and explores memory. Specifically, the dynamic interplay between personal and societal memories. Examining how memory acts as both a preserver and transmitter of our collective culture. He is particularly interested in culturally significant forms, symbolism, mythology and the interplay between the individual and society. Combining representation and abstraction, Chidi Ukwuoma’s process re-contextualizes the known to create the new. He imaginatively produces narratives using printing and sculptural materials, photography, painting and sound sources, chiefly working with vinyl records.
