Kelly C Clayton
Supervising Case Manager GEO Group
Credentials:
Bio:
Hello, my name is Kelly C. Clayton. I am Supervising Case Manager at GEO Reentry Services and have been in this field since 2017. I have over 10 years of Case Management experience in other capacities. My current responsibilities include working closely with Stockton Parole and Reentry courts on reducing recidivism through behavior change for our participants. I am a Delta College Alumni and I completed my certification for Substance Abuse counseling through the University of the Pacific. I am currently enrolled in the BASS program at CSU Stanislaus and look forward to advancing in my career.
- I decided to enter law enforcement and corrections and make it my career because I wanted to play an active role in the "problem solving" aspect of corrections as opposed to the sanctioning.
- The most unusual job I’ve ever had was: I worked a Bi-lingual lactation consultant for approximately two months until it became evident that I was not fluent in another language.
- The hardest thing I’ve ever done is experience the trauma associated with having a Parent battle COVID-19 because of its uncertainty.
- My favorite way to relax is I enjoy scented candles, running water and listening to music.
- My favorite meal is definitely pasta! (Extra garlic)
- You'd be surprised to learn that One of my favorite movies is Shrek.
- I am most proud of Graduating college and not giving up on myself.
- My motto is: "Believe in yourself even when no one else does. Nothing good in life worth having comes easy!"
- If there is one piece of advice I’d like to give to anyone considering corrections as a career I would definitely stress that you do it for the right reasons. Find your “why” and reflect on it as often as you need to so that you can be the very best version of you daily! It is also very important to understand that there is no cookie cutter approach to what we do. You have to, again understand your “why” and be receptive to the individuals we serve. Don’t just hear their voices but listen effectively and make a difference for the good.
