Update: Due to the ongoing coronvirus pandemic, the President's Gala has been postponed to a date to be determined later.

STOCKTON — The Delta College Foundation is proud to announce its first major fundraising event, the inaugural “President’s Gala,” scheduled for the evening of Thursday, March 26 at Stockton Golf & Country Club.

Dr. Omid Pourzanjani, the new superintendent/president at Delta College, will share his vision for expanding educational opportunities for current and future Delta students. Dr. Pourzanjani’s tenure at Delta began in August 2019.

All proceeds from the Gala will be used to support initiatives that directly benefit students. 

“I want to thank this wonderful community for welcoming me with open arms, and most importantly, for supporting the students of Delta College,” Dr. Pourzanjani said. “I cannot wait to share some of the things we are working on to help our students succeed and ultimately make our community even stronger.”

Delta College is a critical cog in the local economy, providing students with pathways to transfer to four-year universities, or to acquire new skills in a wide range of career education programs that can significantly increase their earnings right out of community college.

The goal of the Delta College Foundation is to promote access to higher education and ensure student success. The Foundation works to nurture relationships, build partnerships, and seek resources through events such as the upcoming President’s Gala.

"We are excited to introduce Dr. Pourzanjani to our community,” said Foundation President Pat Doyle. “Guests will have the opportunity to meet him, and hear firsthand his vision for enhancing innovative programs for Delta students."
