South Campus at Mountain House Bond Project
On Friday, December 4, 2009, the Board of Trustees of San Joaquin Delta College held a dedication ceremony for Delta College's South Campus at Mountain House, 2073 South Central Parkway, Mountain House. Joining Delta's Board of Trustees were local officials, staff, area citizens and representatives of Gerry Kamilos, LLC, the company that worked with San Joaquin Delta College to develop the site.
The dedication and ceremonial ribbon cutting was followed by a tour of the campus, which included demonstrations and presentations by Mountain House instructors.
In announcing the dedication, former Superintendent/President Dr. Raúl Rodríguez said, "The South Campus at Mountain House opened its doors to 2,500 students this past August. The response from students in our local communities has been outstanding, exceeding the enrollment projections of our staff. Our South Campus fulfills a long-standing goal of the college to better serve the needs of residents in the southern portion of our district."
Delta's South Campus at Mountain House offers a full range of General Education and Nursing Program science prerequisites. The new campus consists of 15 classrooms, four science labs, Delta's Cisco Networking Academy, a library and administrative office. The campus administrative office will serve as a "one stop shop" for Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, and Veterans Services. New curriculum will emphasize alternative "green energy" programs.
The new campus was funded by the Measure L Bond, supported by the voters of the San Joaquin Delta Community College District in 2004.
