About the Band

• Based at Travis AFB, CA, the Band of the Golden West is the only active-duty USAF band west of the Rockies 
• Consists of roughly 60 skilled Airmen-musicians, organized into ensembles like the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Brass and Woodwind quintets, and Ceremonial Marching Band 
• Their mission: honor the nation and service members, inspire patriotism, and connect with local communities through music.

• Free public concerts remain a key part of their programming—ideal for families, community events, and civic celebrations.
• Seasonal tours typically span late summer into autumn, highlighting patriotic tunes alongside orchestral transcriptions, jazz, and contemporary works.
