Wine tasting class
Wine hospitality courses uncorked at Delta College
March 05, 2023

STOCKTON – Looking to grow its new wine hospitality program, Delta College will host two evening courses starting later this month taught by well-known wine educator and writer Fred Swan.

Both courses feature tastings of many excellent, carefully selected wines and are for adults ages 21 and up. No experience is required.

“Wine Regions of California” is a fascinating journey through the superb wines of California, including their histories and how they are made. “Evaluation of Wine” is for those who would like to develop their wine tasting talents and techniques by sampling wines from around the world.

The courses may be of interest to anyone who wants a career in the wine business, or anyone who simply loves wine. Held in the evenings, the courses are especially convenient for working adults.

“Delta College is in the heart of California wine country,” Swan said. “I’m thrilled to be there, teaching these courses which are instrumental for industry professionals and deliciously informative for consumers."

Swan is a highly credentialed wine expert. He has taught credential courses on wine for more than a decade, is a widely published writer, and is a sought-after speaker and event sommelier. Wine regions of California are a particular focus for him.
