STOCKTON — With the start of Fall Semester rapidly approaching, Delta College is offering a series of special events to help current and new students register for a high-quality, low-cost education.
This month’s “Enrollment Express” Saturday registration events will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 10, Aug. 17 and Aug. 24 at the DeRicco Building Room 117.
An additional weeknight session is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22.
Staff will be on hand at each event to give students one-on-one assistance. As an added bonus, drawings will be held for book vouchers and gift cards, and food will be provided.
With Fall Semester beginning on Aug. 26, the time to consider a community college education is now. Gov. Gavin Newsom recently expanded a tuition waiver for first-time, full-time students from one year to two years. That means students who complete their requirements in two years can transfer to a four-year university or begin a new career right out of Delta without paying a dime in tuition.
The College is also unveiling a new, more convenient fall schedule that makes it easier for students to take back-to-back classes and finish college faster.
Finally, Delta is offering more "dual enrollment" courses this year in which students across the region can take college courses while still in high school. These courses take place at local high schools and there is no cost for tuition, books or fees.
Can’t attend one of Delta’s Enrollment Express events? Delta’s E-Services Center is open to help students on a drop-in basis. The center at DeRicco 149 is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
