EEO Plan and Diversity Committee

San Joaquin Delta College is committed to furthering knowledge and fulfilling our educational mission. We seek a campus climate that welcomes, celebrates, and promotes respect for the entire variety of human experience. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are committed to working toward an environment that values diversity. We create, promote, and maintain activities and programs which further our understanding of individual and group diversity.

The District's Equal Employment Opportunity Plan address the requirements of Education Code section 87106(b) by providing a Plan for compliance with the California Community College Board of Governors' regulations on equal employment opportunity (EEO, hiring, and applicable state and federal nondiscrimination statutes), and for guidance to improve the equality of opportunity.

The Diversity Committee assesses the District's record of employment and diversity and makes recommendations to improve human resources practices relating to diversity in recruitment and hiring. The Diversity Committee promotes, implements and maintains programs and activities for students and staff that further understanding and sensitivity of individual and group diversity.
