From San Francisco State University, Robert Bini earned a B.A. in English and an M.A. in English with an emphasis on Teaching English as a Second Language. In 2001, he completed a certificate in Online Teaching through UCLA Extension. During a five-year residence in Japan, he taught at Junshin Women's Junior College and Kyoto University of Foreign Languages. Since 1990, he has been at San Joaquin Delta College, where he has taught GED in the Migrant Transition Program, ESL courses, and transfer level courses. For most of his career, he has concentrated on teaching basic skills English courses, specifically English 87 and English 79. From 2001 to 2005, he taught an online version of English 79, a developmental writing course, using material he had designed from student essays published in Delta Winds, a campus magazine that he co-edited from 1997 to 2017. He created and has maintained the Delta Winds Online site.
