Be A Participant
You are invited to participate in San Joaquin Delta College’s upcoming Dolores Huerta Plaza Unveiling Celebration on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 12:30-1:30. This Latinx Heritage Month event will celebrate Stockton’s own Dolores Huerta, whose activism for farmworkers, women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community has spanned decades. Delta College honors Ms. Huerta, who attended Stockton College which became Delta, by naming our main outdoor plaza space in her honor. The student-centered event will include live music, food, and activities. The plaque commemorating Ms. Huerta will be unveiled at 1pm.
We expect a large crowd of students and community members to attend, which provides an excellent opportunity for students to connect with resource on campus and around our Stockton community. We hope that you can help us connect our students to all that Delta College, Stockton, and our surrounding community has to offer.
This FREE event will run in the center of our campus from 12:30pm -1:00pm, with set up beginning at 12 noon. There is no cost to participate. We will provide all participating organizations with a table and two chairs, though at this time we are unable to provide electricity or shade. You are welcome to bring flyers and handouts or other items to distribute- we encourage give away and activities for students. Parking is free for all students, community members, and volunteers- no parking permit is needed.
