MESA: Math Engineering Science Achievement

Delta’s MESA program provides academic support to first generation, low-income college students in Calculus-based fields in Mathematics, Engineering and Sciences, as they move towards transfer to four -year institutions. We are part of a statewide continuum of services, working with students in 6th grade through to their Bachelor’s degree, with sister programs at 33 community colleges, 9 CSU and UC campuses throughout California and at the University of the Pacific, in Stockton. MESA is administered through the University of California.

While providing direct academic support through tutoring, workshops, study groups and book/equipment loans, the MESA Center is a hub of activity where like-minded students form long-lasting bonds with peers in their fields of study; the core of MESA's mutual support, encouragement and motivation.

MESA students receive multiple opportunities to meet professionals in the field, participate in STEM-focused university tours and visits to industry, build networks and join national organizations that broaden resources and expand opportunities for STEM majors.

Every year, MESA students at Delta, participate in highly competitive and well-paid research placements in prestigious universities across the country. Our students also consistently receive the largest cumulative amount of scholarship awards on campus and transfer well prepared for continued success.
