About The District

San Joaquin Delta College’s main campus is located in Stockton, California, 90 miles east of San Francisco and nestled in the heart of the agriculturally rich San Joaquin Valley. The snows of the Sierra Nevada and the rich Gold Rush history of California are within a short drive. More than 1,000 miles of Delta waterways surround the Stockton area. Located on a 165-acre campus in north Stockton, San Joaquin Delta College serves a highly diverse population of over 730,000 in a five-county service area with an annual enrollment of over 15,000 students. The college employs approximately 214 full-time faculty, 311 adjunct faculty, and 444 classified staff with an annual operating budget of $80 million.  In addition to the main campus, we are proud to welcome students to our South Campus at Mountain House, near Tracy, California.

The $58 million Stockton campus, completed in 1977, is valued at approximately $380 million and is considered one of the most beautiful community college campuses in California. The college’s unique architecture is patterned after the Mother Lode mining buildings of the 1850’s clustered in a 14-building campus complex built in a park-like atmosphere. The college offers many unique features: the only planetarium star theater in the San Joaquin Valley, one of the only two-year technical training programs in materials and biological electron microscopy in the United States, a 3,000 seat gymnasium and 50-meter pool, a student-operated restaurant, a three-theater performing arts complex, and a 157-acre college farm laboratory near Manteca.
