Mustangs advance to the semi-finals of the Tom Gilcrest Invitational Tournament with 90-46 win over Moorpark JC- Lindsey Saffold leads the Mustangs with 24 points, 11 rebounds and took 3 charges in the first half to set the defensive tone for the night.  Patrice Hunter scored 14 points off the bench and Ashley Brown finished with 13 points and 4 assists.  AJ Henderson led the Mustangs with 6 steals to force Moorpark to 31 team turnovers.  Delta plays Ventura College tomorrow Sat. Dec. 1st at 8pm in the Semi-finals of the Tom Gilcrest Inviational at College of Sequoias. box score -11/30/07

Delta Mustangs (Norcal #1) fall to Foothill College (Norcal #2) 71-67 in the final minutes of the game.  Delta led 34-31 at the half on Patrice Hunter's 3 point shot.  The Lady Mustangs could not keep the Owls off the boards and turned the ball over in the final minutes of the game to allow Foothill a 7 point turnaround with 3 minutes to go.  The Mustangs led 67 to 60 with 3:37 to go and gave up the lead in the final minutes.  Shaunna Ridge finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 charges and 4 blocks to lead the Mustangs.  Delta will face LA Valley College in the opening round of the Tom Gilcrest Invitational Thursday, November 29th at 12noon at College of Sequoias. -11/25/07

Lady Mustangs (5-0) beat 10th ranked San Jose City College (1-3) 86-67 forcing the Jaguars into 28 turnovers. Delta's defense kept them in the lead and only allowed San Jose 18 field goals.  The Mustangs were in foul trouble early and allowed the Jaguars 45 freethrow attempts and giving them half their points (30) from the line.  Freshmen Patrice Hunter and Jessica Cervantes led the Mustangs in scoring (16 and 15 respectively).  Sophomore Lindsey Saffold finished with 15 points and 2 charges taken.  Shaunna Ridge led the team with 10 rebounds and 4 steals while Jessica Dela Cruz took away 4 steals and handed off a game-high 5 assists.  The Mustangs play 11th ranked Ohlone College Tuesday, November 20th at 6pm in Fremont.  - 11/15/07

Delta (4-0) beats Feather River (2-1) 87-42 for the Consumes River championship game on Sunday, Nov. 11th. Andrea Rodriguez led the Mustangs in scoring with a season-high 18 points. Shaunna Ridge, Lindsey Saffold, and Jessica Cervantes each finished with 14 points. Saffold led the Mustangs with 10 rebounds and Ridge contributed 6 assists along with 6 steals. Saffold took 3 charges to spark Delta in the first half, forcing Feather River's Angela Hensey into early foul trouble. The Mustangs face San Jose City Thursday Nov. 15th at 6pm in Blanchard Gym.
