How to Enroll in a Learning Community

  1. Use the list below to find the Learning COmmunity you plan to enroll in
  2. Review course descriptions, schedules, and course codes
  3. You will register for a learning community using the online registration system. 

When you enroll in one Learning Community class, you will automatically be enrolled in ALL classes within the learning community. If you drop any class in the learning community, you will automatically be dropped from ALL classes within the learning community.

AFFIRM: Unity, Integrity, and Personal Growth

Would you like to be a part of a learning community that focuses on unity, cultural and academic integrity, and personal growth? If so, the AFFIRM learning community is the place to be! This learning community is designed to support the retention and transfer of African American students. However, this learning community is open to ALL students who believe they can benefit from, and be enriched by, a learning experience focused on African American history, utilizing the power of the written word and cultural empowerment.

EOPS Student Success Academy (SSA)

The EOPS Student Success Academy (SSA) is a semester-long learning community for first-time Extended Opportunity Programs and Services eligible college students with fewer than 12 units completed. This learning community offers an educationally supportive learning experience which nurtures the skills, strategies, attitudes, and behaviors that enhance student success.

EPIC: Empowering Positive Initiatives for Change

Would you like to be part of a learning community that will help you become aware of yourself and the influences that have shaped who you are today, giving you the knowledge, tools, and motivation to establish goals that will help you to become the person you want to be?

Would you like to be part of an experience that will help you to understand the political process; the inner workings of our country's institutions; and a deeper understanding of your rights and liberties that will empower you to advocate and represent ideals that will help bring about positive action on campus, in the community, the State of California, and the U.S.A.?

Would you like to be empowered with research and information literacy skills that will enable you to find, evaluate, analyze and organize reputable information sources for a research paper and to properly cite the retrieved sources in one of the major writing styles?

This learning community is designed to support Filipino, Asian American and Pacific Islander (FAAPI) students but is open to all students who have an interest in exploring these topics through the lens of the FAAPI experience.

Puente: Building Bridges for Transfer

Puente (Spanish for "bridge") is a national-award-winning program that has helped thousands of students to reach their dreams of college success with a curricular focus on Latino literature and experience. The Puente community college program and learning community consist of three interrelated components: writing, counseling/personal development, and mentoring.

Who Am I, Where Am I Going, and How Do I Get There?

Are you undecided about your major and career goal? This learning community will emphasize self-assessment and career exploration through assessments such as Myers-Briggs, Strong Interest Inventory, True Colors, and other group activities. We will use the career resource library to explore the world of work and link majors to careers. Students will learn how to network and develop career contacts within the community by conducting informational interviews.
