THE FUTURE OF SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT

On November 16, 2010, the San Joaquin Delta Community College District Board of Trustees adopted the 2010 Facilities Master Plan and approved the Recommended Projects list.

Part of the mission of San Joaquin Delta College is to provide students with the skills and knowledge that are relevant in today's economy, and also to provide educational opportunities to all residents of our District. This Facilities Master Plan provides the facilities components needed to fulfill the direction that is established with the Educational Master Plan and to uphold our mission.

What is a Master Plan?

The District's Master Plan incorporates the Educational Master Plan (2010) and Facilities Master Plan to form an over all future plan for the District.

The Educational Master Plan lays out enrollment projections, needs for the region, how much staff may be needed, program growth, new program ideas the District may start offering and where.

The Facilities Master Plan focuses on architectural, engineering, design and landscape principles. It examines the same issues as the Educational Master Plan, only in a facilities method, such as architectural renderings, decisions about the size of buildings and centers, what types of buildings, and what lab spaces and classrooms should be in those buildings.

Combining these two plans develops the over all District Master Plan.
