What is our mission?
Our mission is to provide all students with a strong liberal arts program, which gives students the opportunity to transform into adult citizens, both domestically and globally. The three aspects of adult citizenship that our division focuses on are:
Knowledge: Civic education begins with fundamental knowledge of people and their cultures, the US Constitution, American history, current events, persistent public problems, and the capacity to analyze them.
Values: Value judgments and the ability to evaluate fairness, social justice, freedom, equality, mutual rights and responsibilities in various contexts.
Action: Using one's knowledge and values to take action in ones community, government, military, local and/or state politics.
What programs do we offer?
We offer programs of study in the areas of Administration of Justice, Anthropology, Correctional Science, Early Childhood Education, Economics, Education, Fire Science, History, Humanities, Kinesiology, Philosophy, Physical Education, Political Science, POST Academy, Psychology, Religion, and Sociology.
